Our dog, or Kelsi’s dog really, had to be put to sleep. Shadow was an 18 year old Chow/Akita mix (or Chakita as I liked to say) and had been with Kelsi for some 15 years. She had been losing her senses and deteriorating for some time, but we elected to give her everything we could and keep her alive as long as she was enjoying life. We knew the end was drawing near when she stopped eating and had to be force fed. Sadly, her eyes told us it was time… farewell, old girl.
